Upcoming shows: The Vampires Meet Chris Abrahams, Visions of Nar & Vazesh

Hi everyone,

I hope you're all well. Thanks to everyone that supported Disruption! The Voice of Drums at Sydney Festival (above image). I'll be offering ways to help support this project in its next stage in the coming months, which I'm really excited about.

This newsletter gives updates on an upcoming show and return to Australia for The Vampires, a show with Visions of Nar with Zela Margossian/Adem Yilmaz and Vazesh with Hamed Sadeghi/Lloyd Swanton.

Also, a quick shout out to beloved Sydney club, Old 505 Theatre, which have announced they won't be renewing their lease at the end of March. Through their venue, Cameron and Kerri have played an important part in the Sydney jazz and improvised music community. We wish them well in their next endeavours. Make sure you get out to one of my two shows there this month.

Stay safe and hope to see you at a show.

Jeremy

The Vampires Meet Chris Abrahams

The Vampires return after a forced hiatus, debuting a new collaboration with renowned pianist Chris Abrahams. Arguably one of his generation's most influential pianists and one-third of The Necks, Chris makes a great match for the band, who recently have taken an expansive approach to their compositions. Not to be missed.

Sat 13 March
Old 505 Theatre, Newtown
8:30pm tickets
Jeremy Rose - saxophone/bass clarinet
Nick Garbett - trumpet
Noel Mason - bass
Alex Masso - drums
with Chris Abrahams - piano

Visions of Nar

I'll be performing with Visions of Nar featuring pianist Zela Margossian and percussionist Adem Yilmaz on Sat 20th March, also at Venue 505. We're excited about the new music, which is set to be recorded as part of the ABC Jazz Fresh Start Initiative this year with some special guests, and an album planned for later this year. For more details and tickets, click here.

Vazesh

"It’s the closest thing to telepathy I’ve seen. The audience applauds, satisfied by the class, the brevity, the structural perfection and rich invention of Rose, Sadeghi and Swanton’s Vazesh." ★★★★★, Limelight Magazine
Thanks to everyone that came to our show at the Utzon Room, Sydney Opera House, last December.

We are performing as part of the Autumn Collective, at Peach Black Gallery, Chippendale, on Sunday 28th March. Doors 1:30 for 2pm show. Hope you can join us. Click here for more info
