A breath-taking performance from the masters of jazz
Australia’s most influential saxophonist, Dr Sandy Evans, koto master Satsuki Odamura, and ARIA-Award winning bassist Steve Elphick join forces on Magic Music.
A trail-blazing force for women in jazz, Sandy’s work exploring intercultural music has paved the way for female jazz musicians here at home and abroad. Her long-time collaborator, Satsuki brings her impressive traditional Japanese kotos to life in this superb and rarely-heard collaboration.
Visions of Nar features some of the most progressive new voices in Australian jazz today. A kaleidoscopic ride through jazz, traditional folk and classical music with a nod to the fiery Armenian goddess of water, sea and rain.
The project showcases the 2021 Freedman Jazz Fellow, guitarist Hilary Geddes, alongside pianist Zela Margossian (Ropadope Records), in a must-see musical journey that sends a message of hope and celebration of new beginnings.
